Who the (BLEEP) Did I Marry?

Who the (BLEEP) Did I Marry? airs on the Investigative Channel. Check your local listing.

These poor saps think they have a good marriage and then they find out it’s all a lie. How the hell would you feel waking up one day to find out you were married to a serial killer? To find out your husband is a bank robber or married to other women? What the fuck?  How horrible is that? These poor women walked around life thinking that (whatever it may be) could never happen to them and then it did. Their worst nightmare could have been better than their realty. These bastards were good at keeping their secrets for so long or their wives did not want to see the writing on the wall. So many victims left behind their deceits. They interview wives, family, law enforcement and have reenactments. It’s captivating to see the lies unfold. To make sure you are not married to some psycho watch Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?

Taboo

Taboo airs on National Geographic Monday’s at 9pm est. time. New episodes for season seven begin May 2

Taboo is about strange and scary practices and behaviors from people around the world. I’ve been watching this show since season one. It’s interesting to see what is considered Taboo in different cultures. This show is bizarre and fascinating. I still get shocked by the practices of people in other cultures in the name of religion, love and lifestyle. Body modifications, tattoos, drugs, strange foods, etc. The pain they endure is real and scary. All type of “normal” people appear from men who are in love with human size dolls to nudist camps to sex rituals and these are not people from third world countries. These people have jobs, friends and families and now everyone gets to see their dirty little secret. These people either brave or attention seekers. Taboo keeps me squirming and gasping and it never disappoints. Every episode takes me on a journey out of this world. To see what is considered Taboo, watch it.

The Voice

The Voice airs on NBC Tuesday 9pm est. time. Check you local listing as they will air repeats.

It’s a singing competition, what makes this competition different from the stale old American Idol is that the singers are picked solely on their voices and they don't have judges, they have coaches who have their backs turned to the singers while they sing. If a coach likes what they hear they turn around. If multiple coaches turn around then the singer can pick whose team they want to be on. The coaches are freaking brilliant, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine. They will each have a team and compete against each other. They will mentor and work closely with their team. They each start with a team of eight and must eliminate four. Then America votes. I have two favorites so far. Looking forward to the journey of the contestants. To watch someones dream of becoming a superstar come true, view The Voice.

Repo Games

Repo Games airs on Spike TV Tuesday 8pm est. time. Check your local listing as they will air repeats. I saw the commercial for this show and was very interested.

It’s a game show where the contestants who have are behind on their loans get a visit from the repo man and they get a chance to win their car, free and clear. The repo man asks them five questions and they must get three correct in order to win. If they lose they take their ride. It’s that simple. No fine print, no strings attached and no bullshit. The questions are relatively easy and are about anything from pop culture to music to geography to movies and beyond. I’m a fan of trivia and definitely play along with my husband. We laugh at the contestants and ourselves as we play along. Some of the cars are busted but these people who kill for their ride. They act the fool when they win and look pathetic when the lose. The hosts are cute and their face expressions are a riot. I find this show very entertaining and educational. To watch an original show that will tease your brain and tickle your funny bone watch Repo Games.

Fatal Attractions

Fatal Attractions airs on the Animal Planet Friday at 9pm est. time.

Fatal Attractions is about a one sided love affair between humans and wild animals. This show is fascinating. It shows how humans become obsessed with wild animals and try to humanize them. All types of animals are profiled from a man keeping a lion in an apartment in Harlem to a couple sharing their home with a smelly Buffalo to a man keeping multiple reptiles in a small apartment. They share their homes and their property with these animals and never believe that they will hurt them. Of course they are wrong.  The different ways these people are killed is always cruel and painful. Their obsession makes them blind to the fact that these animals are not meant to live in crapped apartments, houses or their backyards. They’re meant to live in the wild. They treat the animals excellently and love them unconditionally but that is not enough to change their behavior. I’m a huge animal lover but do not believe that we should try to keep them from their natural homes. I no longer support circuses and am not a huge fan of zoos. The only reason I still support some zoos is because of the work they do to help animals. I hope this show can help someone out there realize that they need to return these animals to their natural habitat before it costs them their lives. If you are an animal lover and want to see a love affair gone array watch Fatal Attractions.

Seriously Funny Kids

Seriously Funny Kids airs on Lifetime Monday’s 6pm est. time. Check your local listing.

Heidi Klum is the host and she is hilarious. She asks kids silly questions and of course kids will be honest. Which is always funny, but with Heidi as the host her reactions, responses and timing are impeccable. Being a mom of four is hands on training for this job. The kids are cute, funny and curious but I enjoy watching Heidi  the most. The hidden camera segments are so comical. They also show home videos that they ask the viewers to send. The show is thirty minutes of pure laughter. If you want to see comedy at its most innocent watch Seriously Funny Kids.

E 60

E 60 airs on ESPN Tuesday 7pm est. time. ESPN doesn’t just air games and scores they have this wonderful show E60. It’s a newsmagazine show with great sports writers Jeremy Schaap, Michael Smith, Tom Farrey, Rachel Nichols, and Lisa Salters. They feature stories about up and coming sports, coaches, athletes and how all this affects their families.  I like that they don’t only tell the stories of sports superstars they also tell the story of everyday sport superstars. It’s excellently written, filmed and edited. You feel the joys and pains in the stories. It always makes me cry. The most recent episode was about a young boxer Paco Rodriquez who died after a Championship fight and his organs were donated. They interviewed the recipients and told a brief story of their medical battles. The widow wanted to know who received his organs and they kept in touch via letters. A year to the day that Paco passed away at the request of the widow they met for the first time. It was heartbreaking. The tears were flowing watching his mom break down when she met the young lady who received Paco’s heart. These are the types of stories that made me a fan. To watch sports reporting at its finest watch E 60.

1000 Ways to Die

1000 Ways to Die airs on Spike Tuesday at 10pm est. time. Check your local listing as they air repeats a lot and there is a reason for that; this show is extraordinary.

The title of the show is very fitting as that is exactly what they show you, 1000 Ways to Die. They show everything from a man who gave himself a blood transfusion to pass a drug test, yeah that didn’t work out to well, to a video gamer who played for sixty hours straight and when he stood up a blood clot traveled to his heart, a fake artist who’s art work exploded because he unknown ling bought an old bomb, the stories are endless. They are based on true facts.

Death is not meant to be mocked, so they say, however this show mocks the fuck out of death and it’s funny. I have enjoyed this show since its debut in 2008. I like to have details and they do provide juicy details. They show the date of death, location of death, and tons of interviews with doctors, forensic science experts etc. They reenact the death with actors, then use computer graphics to show you exactly how the person died. The computer graphics are fantastic. You put it all together and you have a show that’s captivating. If you like dark humor with real science watch 1000 ways to Die.

Chuck

Chuck airs on NBC Monday’s 8pm est. time. My husband began to watch Chuck, so one day I decided to pay attention. It’s an action-comedy, which can be corny sometimes.  I didn’t become an instant fan but am interested in the story line. So far it’s keeping me interested.

Chuck Bartowski is a nerd who happens to be handsome and a secret agent. He works with his fiancĂ© also a secret agent Sarah Walker, cutie pie Colonel John Casey and his bff Morgan Grimes. Their undercover job is as sales clerks at an electronic store like Best Buy, called Buy More. The supporting cast is everyone from Chuck’s sister to the numb nuts working at the store. The Governments spy lair is called “The Castle” and it’s behind the lockers at the store. This season they had the great Linda Hamilton playing Chuck’s long lost mom. The guest appearances are pretty good, everyone from Robin Givens to Timothy Dalton. The storyline is about Chuck discovering his past; it’s like a giant onion, every week they peel back another layer, all the while saving the world from the next disaster. It can be corny sometimes don’t see where it can improve. I will continue to watch until I get bored. If you’re a fan of action-comedies watch Chuck.

Archer

Archer airs on FX on Thursday at 10pm est. time and it’s an adult cartoon. I saw the commercials and thought it was not going to be funny. Boy was I wrong. I started to watch an episode as I was channeling surfing and laughed my ass off. The main character is Sterling Archer a spy who is vulgar, vain, insensitive, self absorbed, cocky and borderline racist. Good to see no holds bar TV.

Archer works at the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS) run by his mommy Malory who always has a drink in hand. The supporting cast consists of; Sexy Lana; also a spy, Cyril; the push over comptroller,  Cheryl; cute but dingy secretary, Pam; jolly human resource rep and Woodhouse; Archer’s butler who he takes advantage of. Ever week they have a different mission and deal with everyday life’s problems. The manner they tackle their missions is absurd and unimaginable. Very humorous spoof on the spy world. To see an adult cartoon push the limits watch Archer.

Intervention

Intervention airs on A&E Monday’s at 8pm est. time. I’ve been an avid viewer since the show began in 2005. Intervention gives you an insight into the mind of a drug addict, alcoholic and people who have other addictive behaviors. The most interesting part of the show is when they tell the story from birth until there current state. It frightens me to see how these people have hit rock bottom. It doesn’t matter your class in society you are susceptible to becoming an addict. You don’t only hurt yourself as an addict but also your family. They show all types of addicts from a young girl addicted to compressed air, to heroin addicts to pill poppers. It’s fucking bonkers and sad. So the family gets together and tries an intervention to get their loved ones help. Sometimes it works, and then other times it doesn’t. I think this show should be shown at schools on a weekly basis to shows the true effects of drugs and alcohol. To watch people killing them self slowing and hopefully being rescued watch Intervention.

Crush It

Why Now Is The Time To Crush It Cash In On Your Passion by Gary Vaynerchuk

Crush It is not a get rich quick book. It shows you how to use social media to build your brand while doing what you’re passionate about. It’s only 142 pages and straight to the point. It doesn’t promise that you will have success even if you work hard. It’s very realistic. It does give you great ideas and tools to succeed; the rest is up to you. Most of the books I have been reading lately are about succeeding online. I’m not looking to become a millionaire just enough to quit my day job. This book definitely motivated and reminded me that you really can make money online. Gary wrote another book called “The Thank You Economy” I will be picking it up on Saturday from the library. Interested to see where he picks up from Crush It.

Human Planet

Human Planet airs on the Discovery Channel Sunday’s 9pm est. time.  I discovered (no pun intended) this show the other day while channeling surfing. It held my attention and left me wanting more. Human planet shows us families from around the world that co-exist with living near/in jungles, deserts, oceans and mountains. We are a bunch of spoiled cry babies in America compared to how these families survive. Try being twelve years old and sleeping outside alone in the cold so you can protect your family’s crop against hundreds of baboons or catching bats so your family can eat some meat. I am always intrigued to see how people around the world live. Do not want to see it in person, from the comfort of my couch is good enough. The cinematography of documentaries has improved by leaps and bounds. The camera views are so freaking amazing. You feel like you are there. If you’re interested in seeing how people more than 1000 miles away from you live, check out Human Planet.

Arthur

I went to the movies to see Arthur with Russell Brand, Helen Mirren and Jennifer Garner. I’m not a fan of remakes but will give them a try. Glad that I did with Arthur as I really enjoyed it. It was funny and did not get boring. Don’t like when movies get boring and drag on. This movie did not.  I was six when the original came out. I first saw it when I was a teenager and thought it was very funny. All remakes add their own twist, sometimes it work, sometimes it doesn’t. This time is worked. I’m a fan of Helen Mirren. Never saw Russell Brand in a movie and thought he was going to be bad. He wasn’t. I was pleasantly surprised by his acting and became an instant fan. I also became an instant fan of Greta Gerwig who plays Arthur's love interest. See was charming and real. If you want a good chuckle, give Arthur a view. Going to watch the original on Netflix on my Wii, goodnight.

The Smoking Gun Presents: The World Dumbest

The Smoking Gun Presents: The World Dumbest airs on Tru TV Thursday 9pm est. time. Check your local listing as this show is repeated a lot.

The title of the show is very fitting. It’s like Americas Funniest Videos on steroids. They show videos of the World Dumbest criminals, drunks, fights, drivers, record breakers, etc. There is commenting from Z List actors and comediennes. Everyone from Todd Bridges, to Daniel Baldwin. Funny, Funny, Funny!!! I record the show on my DVR because I know I am going to laugh so hard that I will have to pause it. I rewind often and play certain videos in slow motion. I can’t believe my eyes. If you’re on this show you’re not only a dummy but a freaking moron. Its ridicules the things people do and some know they’re being recorded. You’re always left asking why? Why the hell people do what they do? It’s pure entertainment for me. If want to see amazingly hilarious videos watch World Dumbest.

Forensic Files

Forensic Files airs on Tru TV Friday 11:00pm est. time. They repeat often so check your local listing.

If you’re a fan of CSI, NCIS, or any other fictional TV crime show. Then you will enjoy Forensic Files. It is a non-fictional show with real detectives, plots, and DNA. They show how real crimes are solved. Not like on the fictional shows in sixty minutes. They focus on DNA evidence. It’s fucking insane how they have DNA for everything; trees, pets, insects, and on and on. Why bother committing a crime? With all the video cameras, cell phone traced, paper trail and DNA you will get caught. Each case is unique and gives you an insight into the forensic world. It’s a very large and intricate world. I’m a huge fan. I know I have been watching for years and wanted to find out when it first aired. Wikipedia has it listed as 1996 on TLC under the name Medical Detective, I also watched that show. I love non fiction crime shows!!!!  Any hoot, if you want to see a show with unique stories solved with different forensics watch Forensic Files.

Penny Chic Blog

Penny Chic is a website about written by Shauna Miller. She had an idea of wearing Walmart clothes and making it look Chic. Her models are herself, family and friends. She nailed it. I definitely enjoy this website and was put on to it by Perez Hilton. She shows different types of outfits; fun, sexy, work appropriate, and youthful. I check it out about once a week for fashion inspiration. Today I checked it out and found out she was covered by CNN. I read CNN everyday but was in NY with no internet access and missed the article. Congrats Shauna, keep up the good work. If your looking for inexpensive fashion idea’s check out Penny Chic.

The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory airs on CBS Thursday 8pm est. time. I first watched this show on a flight to Hawaii in 2009 and had to contain my laughter. I began to tape as soon as I got home. The dry humor is fantastic and one of a kind.

The show is about two roommate/besties Leonard and Sheldon who are brilliant doctors (physicists) and their neighbor an aspiring actress cutie pie Penny. Leonard and Sheldon hang out with their friends Howard and Rajesh. These groups of friends are nerdy and unique. Sheldon is by far the funniest. He is robotic and thinks he is superior to his friends. Since Penny is not as book smart as the others she takes the blunt of jokes. Howard lives with his mother who you never seen but hear her shouting some wild shit. She is an unseen character. Rajesh is from India and the lost in translation jokes are clever. This season they gave Howard and Sheldon a girlfriend. If you want your funny bone tickled watch The Big Bang Theory.

The Ultimate Fighter

The Ultimate Fighter Season 13 airs on Spike TV Wednesday 9:00pm. Sixteen fighters competing for a six figure contract with UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).

UFC is mixed martial arts fighting (MMA). My husband introduced me to MMA fighting in 1998. I was shocked when I first saw it and thought it was so barbaric. I never thought I would ever become a fan of such a sport. Then came 2005 and I saw a commercial on Spike about a new realty show The Ultimate Fighter. By this time I had seen the growth of MMA fighting and the UFC (via my husband) from 1998 to 2005 and was interested in the realty show. I was hooked immediately and haven’t missed a season. Because of the show I have become a UFC fan.

Sixteen fighters are divided into two teams picked by the coaches. The coaches consist of two of the best UFC fighters. The coaches bring their own coaches for different training, such as wrestling, cardio, jiu jitsu etc. You get a behind the scenes look on what it takes to become a UFC fighter. This is not for the weak. They train their asses off. Some of them come to the show out of shape and have to cut weight. It’s painful watching them having to lose a certain amount of pounds in twenty four hours. But then I realize they were stupid enough to show up out of shape then they deserve the pain it takes to lose the weight. Dopey. They fight to stay in the competition and can win $5,000 for a knockout. What I like about the show is that you get to know the fighters intimately and get to know their story. You could understand why they choose to fight for a living. Also watching sixteen men living in a house with no TV, radio, phone, computer and a lot of alcohol is pretty funny. Some of them lose their marbles. One of the stars of the show is the face of UFC the President Dana White. He is a character and it has been fun watching him grow the realty show. I like him because he tells it as it is. No sugar coating or bullshitting. There are rules and if they break them, Dana sends their ass home. Bye bye!! He is fair and has given many fighters that did not win an opportunity to fight in the UFC and some become superstars. Every season I fall in a love with one of the coaches and some of the fighters. Then I’m over it and can’t wait for the next season. I’m excited for this season; the coaches are Brock Lesnar vs Junior Dos Santos.  At the end of the show the two coaches fight on a pay per view fight. Only one episode has aired and so far I’m rooting for Junior. Let’s see if I switch teams as when it comes to the UFC I am not faithful. If you like hand to hand combat give The Ultimate Fighter a view.
